Come and immerse yourself in the beautiful world of Argentine Tango with Kirsty of kijutango and visiting teachers.
Tango is, put simply, a walking dance, with the emphasis on translating the music into your body. It is also, most importantly, an improvised, creative dance form.
In the variety of lessons and workshops offered you learn the core elements of tango, with other practices such as meditation and contact improvisation incorporated into the learning experience.
As well as learning the Argentine Tango, you will build on your confidence, listening skills, ability to trust, and to communicate with clarity and clear intention.
Argentine Tango is a natural body experience that will enable you to become intimate with yourselves as well as others.
Kirsty has been a tango dancer for five years, a zen Buddhist for over ten years, and also teaches massage, which enables her to present a unique mind/body approach to Argentine tango. She launched kijutango in Brighton in October 2006, where you will find the opportunity to dance at weekly milongas (social dance nights), attend weekly classes and special events with visiting teachers and musicians from around the world. She also co-founded Tango Liaison in 2005, the first weekly milonga in Brighton, which still runs on Sunday evenings.
